Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Calsico.
Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Calsico, including calsico.com and app.calsico.com (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Calsico.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms were drafted by our team and are not legal advice. Entity details and governing law are placeholders until reviewed by a lawyer.
Service description
Calsico lets you turn Google Sheets formulas into shareable web calculators. You connect a Google account, map spreadsheet cells as inputs and outputs, design a layout, and publish a public link. Visitors can run your calculator without creating a Calsico account.
The Service includes workspace collaboration, plan-based usage limits, and subscription billing for paid tiers.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you use Calsico on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Account and security
- Provide accurate and current account information.
- Keep your password confidential and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
- Do not share your account credentials or use another person's account without permission.
Google integration
Calsico connects to Google Sheets and Drive using scoped OAuth access.
- You authorize Calsico to access Google APIs on your behalf using the drive.file and spreadsheets scopes.
- Spreadsheet access is per-file via Google Picker — Calsico cannot browse your entire Google Drive.
- When a published calculator runs, Calsico clones your workbook, writes visitor inputs, reads formula outputs, and deletes the temporary copy. Your source spreadsheet is not modified.
- You are responsible for maintaining access to linked spreadsheets and Google accounts used by your calculators.
Published calculators
If you publish a calculator, you are responsible for its content, accuracy, and compliance with applicable laws. Calculator results depend on your spreadsheet logic — Calsico does not verify them.
You are the data controller for information submitted by visitors to your published calculators. Do not use Calsico to collect sensitive personal data (such as health, financial account, or government ID information) without a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards.
Visitors use published calculators at their own risk.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Upload, publish, or distribute malware, spam, or harmful content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or third-party systems.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or circumvent usage limits or security measures.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission.
Plans, billing, and limits
Calsico offers Free, Pro, Team, and Scale plans with different limits on calculators, workspace members, and monthly runs. Paid subscriptions are processed by Dodo Payments.
By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize recurring charges according to the plan you select. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
We may change plan pricing or limits with reasonable notice. Downgrades take effect according to your billing cycle.
If you exceed plan limits, we may restrict usage until you upgrade or the next billing period.
Intellectual property
Calsico owns the Service, including its software, design, and branding. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or proprietary technology.
You retain ownership of your spreadsheets, calculator content, and other materials you provide. You grant Calsico a limited license to host, process, and display your content solely to operate the Service.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculator results will be accurate. Google Sheets and third-party services may experience outages or changes beyond our control.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calsico will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars if you have not paid us, whichever is greater.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Calsico from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your published calculators, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or if we discontinue the Service.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive termination.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
